FREMONT, CA- June 3, 2021 – WaveSplitter Technologies, Inc. announces the addition of our new 25G ER and ERL transceivers to our ever-expanding line of 25G cables and transceivers for 5G applications. The new products support both 25G Ethernet as well as CIPRI Option 10 data rates. They are targeted at new 5G deployment as well as upgrading existing mobile capacity expansion applications where higher data rate is needed with longer reach up to 80 km.
“Our 25G ER and ERL transceivers are targeted for use in longer reach applications such as dispersed cell sites and huts and operations centers,” said Mike Glenn, Vice President of Business Development. “The ER version provides 40km reach, while the ERL (ER-Lite) is a lower cost version with slightly reduced optical specs that has a reach of 30km without FEC and 40km with FEC. The 10G ZR transceiver adds an upgraded in-house APD receiver to boost its reach to 80 km. By using our own in-house EML lasers we can offer lower cost and high volume capacity for our customers’ mass deployment.”
WaveSplitter’s 25G ER and ERL transceivers are available in SFP28 packaging and are fully compliant with SFF-8402 SFP28 MSA. The product has a low power consumption of max. 1.2W over -40 to +85degC. Three version of the transceiver are available in different operating temperature ranges: 0-70C, -20 to +85C, and -40 to +85C. Production volume with the new in-house lasers is available in November 2021.
