FREMONT, CA- February 27, 2019 - WaveSplitter Technologies, Inc. announces our new 25G SFP28 bidi transceivers with 10km reach.  The new products support both 25G Ethernet as well as CIPRI Option 10 data rates.   The new products are targeted at new 5G deployment as well as upgrading existing mobile capacity expansion applications where higher data rate is needed with lower fiber count.

 

“Our 25G bidi transceiver is targeted for use in longer reach applications such as building to building, cross campus or campus to campus backbones where fiber count is at a premium,” said Mike Glenn, Vice President of Business Development.  “By replacing 10G standard transceivers with 25G bidirectional transceivers (each link requires only 1 fiber instead of 2), customers can increase effective data rate up to 4.5x higher per fiber. This data rate increase gives customers a low-cost upgrade path for heavily-trafficked routes while saving the cost of installing any new fiber plant.

 

WaveSplitter’s 25G bidi transceivers communicate via a single strand of SMF fiber and includes a single simplex LC receptacle connector.  The product has a low power consumption of max. 1.5W over -40 to +85degC.  Three version of the transceiver are available in different operating temperature ranges:   0-70C, -20 to +85C, and -40 to +85C. Production volume is available in March 2019.
