FREMONT, CA- March 17,2017 – WaveSplitter Technologies, Inc. announces today our new 100Gbps QSFP28 CWDM4 transceiver, targeted at High density, high bandwidth networking applications found in High Performance Computing (HPC), warehouse mega data centers, and video distribution centers.
“WaveSplitter releases our 100Gbps QSFP28 CWDM4 high performance transceiver for use in applications where minimum fiber cost and complexity preclude the use of parallel fiber transceivers such as our 100G PSM4 transceiver.” said Dr. Sheau Chen, CEO. “The CWDM4 applies high-performance CWDM lasers and PIN PDs with advanced integration in signal integrity and optical sub-assembly operating with SMF fiber for reaches up to 2 km. Before the advent of the CWDM4 transceiver the transceivers options available to network architects were limited to the parallel fiber PSM4 with 500m range, or the very expensive 100G LR4 10km transceivers. The CWDM4 fills the gap in between these two options and optimizes the price-performance for links up to 2 km.”
Wavesplitter’s 100G QSFP28 CWDM4 product brings lower cost, highest performance interconnect between racks in a row and row to row interconnect in the data center or video distribution locations up to 2km via SMF duplex cable. They are meant to be used in datacom networking equipment such as 100GbEthernet switches and routers, load balancers and firewalls, and high speed data and video servers, Infiniband EDR, FDR, QDR switches in low power consumption of max. 2.5W over 0~70degC. The units are compliant with the CWDM4 industry Multi-source agreement (MSA). A lower cost version for use in large deployment data centers with controlled cooling is also available with 500m reach and 10-55C operating range.
